2021-2022 Season Update

Greetings to all our Steelers families and players. Your Board of Directors wanted to make an early announcement on the status for the 2021-2022 season. We weathered the pandemic keeping the NCCYHA in good financial order, and remain strong as we enter into next season. We are making every effort to return to Fredonia State’s Steele Hall which appears to be in a positive direction. Never the less, if something drastic happens we are prepared to shift gears so hockey will not be interrupted.

The NCCYHA will host all divisions including: Learn to Play Hockey, Mites (all ages) 6U and 8U, Squirts 10U, PeeWee 12U, Bantam 14U, Modified (7th & 8th grade), High School Hockey for JV and Varsity. We look to have some very strong divisions as our players return from the pandemic. We hope families that either took the year off or tried another organization will return to keep our teams healthy and solid. All kids will eventually be required to return to play high school hockey (as this is determined and mandated by school districts). We believe keeping our kids playing together can boost our hopes of another repeat for a New York State Championship like in years past. The coaches and staff members are convinced we have much talent coming up through the ranks to be successful.

As always, our focus is to have fun and draw out the best in all our players both in hockey and as individuals. We will continue this by offering a substantial increase in ice sessions going forward for all divisions (except Mites, as they have 3 per week already). We want to give our players the best opportunity to succeed and we will do this by providing more ice for coaches and players to thrive. The NCCYHA Board will keep communications flowing throughout the summer and any Director is available to answer questions. If you should know any family that is uncertain feel free to reach out on their behalf and one of our Directors will contact them.

We look forward to seeing everyone in the fall. Stay safe and have a wonderful summer!
